Polka Dots | TCFstyle Expo Recap

On last Saturday, August 8th, I had the pleasure of attending the first annual TCFStyle Expo.  You guys it was such an amazing fun filled event hosted by Marie Denee, blogger and CEO of The Curvy Fashionista.  I have to take a moment and confess here that although I blog about my personal style and allow myself to be vulnerable to all feedback, I'm one of the shyest people you could ever meet...lol.  I'm sort of an introvert and social situations make me a little anxious as I'm still coming into my own and learning how to step out of my comfort zone.
I tossed the idea around of  who I would drag ask to accompany me to event.  Would you believe that absolutely no one was available to go?!  Sigh...the life of a fashion blogger. Anyhoo, I made up in my mind that I would just go and hope for the best and wouldn't ya know, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  There were women everywhere, from all walks of life and they looked just like me.  I was soooo inspired by all of the confident women strutting their stuff with heads held high and shoulders back.
Marie was such an amazing host, buzzing around the event, greeting everyone, making them feel warm and welcome.  Such a sweet spirited person and I can't wait to attend next year.  There were vendors, photo booth, a fashion show and those cosmos....were on point!  And of course attending my first event as a blogger, I had to wear something that was comfortable yet made me feel beautiful.  Check out my outfit deets below.

  1. It's always intimidating to go to an event by yourself - I've had to do it a couple of times! But it looks like you had fun and meet some cool people!

  3. Im shy too when it comes to going places by myself so I would have probably been pretty freaked out. So I am really glad you actually went and had a good time. Was the event for fashion bloggers or just curvy ladies in general? Great idea going for the cute, comfy look. Nothing worse then being uncomfortable all day, then your cute aint quite so cute anymore by the end of the day. LOL .... PS Thanks for linking up!! I super appreciate your continued support of the link up. :-)

    1. Hi, Melissa! I actually did have a great time just socializing and mingling. This event was for fashion bloggers in general, but Marie's niche is more geared toward plus size curvy ladies ranging in sizes 12 and up. It was her first event since moving to Atlanta and she plans to do it annually in August :)
