Taste the Rainbow

Hi, everyone! I know, I know, it's still winter. Yeah, but there have been some pretty warm days here in North Carolina.  That's the thing with living in the south.  On this particular day, it was 70 degrees!! Hence, my oiliness on my face. Note to self: find a new primer for my makeup. I heard Milk of Magnesia works wonders for oily skin. Maybe I'll try that.

My post is titled Taste the Rainbow, because with winter comes short, dreary, cloudy days.  I felt like infusing some color into my wardrobe and what better weather could I ask for in December to pull this look off.  I paired my rainbow colored crop top with a simple white lacy tank and my oh-so-comfortable pink chucks!  How are the winter days where you guys live?

Date Night...

The Best Man Holiday 2013

Ankle Booties purchased - Here

Hi, guys!  I know I haven't posted in a loooong time...lol. I was recently asked on a date by none other than my husband of 10 years and we went to see the movie Best Man Holiday.  I wanted to wear something nice but not to formal.  After hours of digging through my closet, I decided to go with this ensemble.  Please leave a comment below to let me know what you guys think of it.

Animal Print Tank (similar to this) purchased - Here

 I love this man!

We had such a wonderful time! I recommend plenty of kleenex if you decide to view this movie. You will laugh and cry throughout the whole viewing.

Shopping on a budget

Thrifty Shopper

Hi, everyone! Thanks for checking out my outfit of the day. I wore this look on Easter Sunday 2013. See, I took photographs guys, but I just didn't blog about them... Shame on me. Anywho, I live in the hot and humid south of the USA and I decided to wear these light and flowy fabrics that day so that I could BREATHE. The air can be so thick here in the spring and summer that you could cut through it with a knife. I purchased most of these pieces from my local Walmart. Yeah, I was shocked to see such quality clothing in this type of store. The total price of this outfit was less than I spend on a week of grocery. Can you say winning? Please tell me what you think in the comment section below. Smooches!

My Love Affair With Black & White

Over the course of the past few weeks, I've developed a love for the colors black and white. Peplum blouses have also become a favorite of mine. When I saw this blouse I simply could not pass it by. It features a neckline made of black lace and a bodice of lightweight cotton fabric. I paired this with mint green jeggings and black ballet flats. Thank you for viewing my post! Candid photographs of Me

Hi guys! I guess it took me a really long time to come out of my shell huh? Lol...well, I have been super busy and it just came across my mind that I started this blog way back in February 2013. Wow, there's  been a lot going on with me but anywho.... I just thought I'd share some candid snapshots of myself and the start of my love affair with all things fashionable. I would say that my style favors more of a trendy fashion. I do love to play around with vintage styles and classic styles also. Hope you enjoy! Please comment and let me know what you think. I'm still new to this blogging thingy :)

Here's a dress I wore last summer. This also marked my
one year anniversary of chopping my locs and growing my
natural hair.

I love this nautical look on me. And guess what?
Yes this curvy girl is wearing horizontal stripes.

I paired this dress with a yellow tank instead of the typical red
that everyone wears with nautical stripes. I loved it!

I found this faux leopard print cardigan while thrifting!
Score! Yes I do love to find a great deal and at only $3.75
can you say winning??!!

And last but not least, here's my take on vintage.
I found this lovely paisley print blouse with the
cute pussy bow that gives it a little flair. So classic,
yet chic. I paired with denim jeans and red faux suede shoes.

Well thanks for viewing my blog guys. I promise to get better at this.
Stay tuned :)

Hello, Let Me Introduce Myself

Emerging from my Shell

Hi, everyone! I'm super excited to introduce you to my blog! I am by no means a fashionista but I do love all things associated with fashion. As a curvy girl my blog will be centered on my love of clothing, shoes and accessories. I'm obsessed with all of these things.  I've always considered myself an introvert, but I've finally made the decision to come out of my shell and embrace me for who I am....

- a "girly girl" who happens to have curves
- someone who has learned to love my flaws
- my size doesn't determine who I am inside or how I should be treated by society..

I've learned to love me :)
