Style Remix

I have truly been enjoying shopping my closet.  I don't know about many of you, but this girl here is NOT coined, rich, wealthy...etc.  So, I had to back off my spending for a while.  I've learned some valuable lessons in doing so.  One being that I really don't have to own the latest fashions or squeal with joy each time I'm emailed a sales promotion that is to die for.  I have four children, two still in elementary and one in middle school, and their college funds are worth way more to me than my shopping obsession.  Although I love fashion, I have faced the fact that sometimes it's simply best to love what you own and wear it until it's done, faded, threads coming apart.... lol, get my drift?

With that being said, my new goal for myself and this blog is to be challenged by finding multiple ways to wear the things I already own.  I'm not a celebrity who can afford to wear a new outfit everyday without repeating it at least some of the time.  And to tell the truth, I don't think I would do that even if I were coined like Oprah.  I find solace in knowing that I purchased something that I love and heck, I wanna wear it more than once, or twice, or three times for that matter.

While skimming my overflowing closet and trying really hard not to reach for the same 20% of the 80% items hanging there, I landed my eyes on this beauty.  She was free, gifted from my mom who didn't want it, stating she didn't know how to style it.  My eyes lit up immediately as I could picture several ways to wear the flow-y white ensemble.  Plus, who doesn't love FREE chiiiile?!  I last wore it on the blog here and loved the way it was styled.  For this go round I just hiked it up over my boobs, belted it and added some fun accessories and voila!  A new outfit was born...lol.
Outfit Details:
Skirt worn as dress ~ Gifted *score*
Belt ~ Used from another outfit
Eggplant Colored Fringe Purse ~ Gabe's $3 (I looove this store)
Tan Wedges ~ Payless Shoes
Flower Crown ~ Forever 21

So what do you think?  Loving my style remix?  Do you love finding new ways to wear your favorite things?

I will be featuring many remixed items I own in the future on this blog.  I hope you will stick around and offer me insight and feedback.  Thank you to all my loyal readers.  I love you all!  Until next time....

Peace and Love,

  1. Like that idea of wearing an item more than once! You look lovely and the color combination is one of my favorites! Thanks for linking-up with Turning Heads Tuesday. Apologize for the bad quality picture. There was a misunderstanding and the photos got mixed up. Sabina | Oceanblue Style

    1. Thank you so much! Enjoyed linking up with you :)

  2. Oh wow, I could have sworn it was a skirt in the link you provided showing how it was styled before, but it looks so cute as a dress as well. What a fun remix and who doesn't love free clothing right? I am loving your challenge.
Thanks for linking up to "Bloggers WHo Have Inspired Me" this past Tuesday.

    1. Isn't it neat being able to get maximum use of your wardrobe? And free...yeeees! Can't beat that. Thanks for stopping by :)

  3. I love how you reinvented this skirt! I totally thought it was a dress! That fringe clutch is really on trend now too.
    Jeans and a Teacup

    1. That was neat, huh? And I'm a lover of anything fringe. So feminine and girly...lol. Love it :)

  4. I am with you! I need to shop more in my closet less at stores. And you can never go wrong with free - great styling of a pretty white dress!

Thank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you Thursday.

    1. Alice, my closet is overflowing...ugh! I am embarrassed to say how many things I've accumulated. I just can't help myself with loving fashion and style sometimes.

  5. We are almost like twins with this look! This is exactly what I was picturing if I styled my white skirt without something on top. Personally, I prefer bloggers who wear the same pieces multiple times - it is more realistic and creative. :)

    1. Thanks Jennie! I can't get enough of wearing my favorite items in new ways :)
