On Sundays I Wear Skirts | Lime Pencil Skirt

Hey y'all!!  I know, such a southern thing to say, but I promise you I'm educated and even hold a degree in nursing.  It's just the way we say hello down here...lol.  Anywho,  I was inspired by a package of Starburst for this post.  If you haven't gotten a chance to see how I've styled skirts for this series yet, you can see previous posts here and here.

Sweater Remix

Hey y'all! I hope you're having an awesome week so far. Mine is going pretty good. No complaints here.  Just living and enjoying life.  Thankful to have a new day of grace and mercy.  God has been good to me.  Yes, I'm a believer and follower of Christ.  And it's amazing how he shows himself strong to me everyday in the midst of my weaknesses.  I'm not perfect, only human.  And I don't get it right every single day of my life, but I strive to be better each day.  To show love and kindness is my aim each and every day I'm given, even to those with ill intent toward me.  I realize that some who follow me may not have the same beliefs as I, and I'm okay with that.  God gives us free will to choose whom we serve and I choose him.

Pinspiration

Hey y'all!!  We made it through another week and now it's time for a fresh new start to the work week. With the days getting longer and warmer I'm ready to break out the sundresses and sandals!!  Not much to chit chat about today.  I found this cute sweater at Lane Bryant during a clearance event.  It was the only one left.  If I didn't know any better I'd say this was meant just for me.  I mean it was just my size and fit my frame to a tee and everything.  I'm wearing a size 18/20 and the material is nice light and breathable.

On Sundays I Wear Skirts | Tangerine and Leopard

If you've followed my blog for a while now, you'll know that my favorite print is leopard.  It pairs well with practically EVERYTHING to me.  The perfect blend of all neutrals is aesthically pleasing to the eye and you can basically add a plethora of colors to make it work.  I particularly love pairing leopard prints with a bright bold color such as this tangerine pencil skirt I scored for the low at Gabe's.  Can you believe it was only five bucks?  *Gasp*... There was no way I was leaving it hanging all by its lonesome on the rack.  And it's one of my favorite labels to wear, Lane Bryant.  Now, this skirt retails at around 50-60 bucks, and you know the thrifty part of me will NOT pay retail for anything...lol.  This skirt is old and no longer available, at least I couldn't find it on the web site or in store.  Hence, the reason I will be shopping my closet more because there is no way this should still have tags on it...*insert blank stare*.  Anywho...

Plum Sweater and Khaki Slacks

As we approach the end of what seemed to be an awful long winter season, I'm looking forward to taking more outfit photos outside in natural lighting.  It truly is the best lighting for taking awesome photos of rich color laden garments.  I'm still learning what angles look best for the camera, though.  I've taken sooo many photos that aren't really that flattering to me in some pictures.  However, I must admit I'm getting better at it.  As the saying goes, practice makes perfect.  In fact, I've learned some tips from blogger Kim at Naturally Fashionable and intend to use them for future photo sessions.

More aspiring blogger goals on the radar are to get a new camera and tripod with remote.  While I love fashion blogging, I've come to realize not everyone does including some family and friends.  And it's like pulling teeth trying to drag my hubby or son to snap photo pics of me.  They run the other way when they see me coming with camera in hand and a smile on my face...lol.  But I won't let that stop me from documenting my style, my journey, my love...  So tripod and remote it is.  I have no idea what path fashion blogging may lead me to.  However, I do intend to use it as an opportunity to grow, emerge and evolve my style all while sharing it in my little corner of the blogosphere in hopes to inspire others.

What are your goals as we approach a new season?  Engage with me.  I love interacting with my reader audience :)

Kelly Green + Stripes

Hey y'all!  It's a new week for new beginnings!  I am overly excited to officially welcome the new spring season this coming Friday, March 20, 2015.  After the cold and brutal winter some of us have experienced, I know you guys can relate and share in my excitement.  I was shopping my closet and found this striped sweater I purchased a few weeks ago and thought it would go perfect with these green colored pants.  I purchased these about a month ago and they have been hanging out in my closet begging to be worn.

Flawless

I'm surprised that I actually saw this sweatshirt and had to have it!  I am soooo not a trendy person, but the sequins caught my eye.  I'm sure this top is inspired by Beyonce's famous song.  This sweatshirt is incredibly soft and comfy.  Cute and comfortable has been my go to for the past few weeks of this crazy weather we've been experiencing down south.  70's one day and freezing the next...ugh! I'm so over it and ready for spring! I dream of trees with new blooms and flowers scenting the air.  Birds chirping and the warm sun shining on my face.  Yep, bring it on!
