Warm Autumn Days

As we settle into the autmn season, I sit and watch as the last leaves slowly drift from dead branches and float to the ground.  Don't get me wrong, I love autmn, but sometimes the early sunsets and cloudy days can make me feel a bit drab.   Some people know this feeling all too well, and may even suffer from what's called Seasonal Affective Disorder.  While I wouldn't go as far as to say I suffer from that, I will say that the weather definitely plays a factor in choosing my outfit for the day.

While researching the effect of wearing the color orange, I came across the following facts.  Orange represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation.  It is associated with joy, sunshine, and the tropics.  To the human eye, orange is a very hot color, so it gives the sensation of heat.  Nevertheless, orange is not as aggressive as red.  Learn more about the effect of color, especially orange, here.

Now, normally I would wear something this color during the summer since it is associated with joy, sunshine and the tropics.  However, the weather where I live has been one continuous cloud covered day after another.  We had 10 straight days of clouds, rain, and showers...ugh!  I'd had enough and I have to admit putting this on immediately lifted my spirits.  I even received compliments on what I wore from random people throughout the day.  I love how I incorporated this color into my fall color palette.  I'll definitely be wearing this infinity scarf again in the spring.  It has such beautiful colors in it....fuschia, teal, cream and brown.

I opted to wear my cognac colored boots from last autumn and adored the seasonal vibes it gave this ensemble.  A cream knit top also allowed my scarf to be a stand out piece.  I could tell it was noteworthy, as I was observing peoples' eyes upon approaching me.  Everyone gazed straight at the scarf...lol.  I love it too, it made me so happy and warm to wear it.
