This week, I'm conquering the insecurity of baring my arms. Major progress is being made in the plus size fashion industry with first plus-sized fashion model Tess Holliday landing a modeling contract. I salute and applaud her efforts in embracing her body and showing other plus-size fashionistas how to do the same. She has inspired myself and others to step out of our comfort zone and own our beauty. I mean, who says beauty is only seen when wearing a size 2? I'm not bashing slim fashionistas, so please don't be offended.
Wearing this strapless jumpsuit has been a major accomplishment for me. It really pushed me to try new things and, ya know, just see what happens. I've had this cute jumpsuit for about two years now, and every summer I unpack it from storage and wear it as portrayed in the above photo. A shrug, sweater, jacket, cardigan...anything to cover my arms. Well, no more!! It is hooooot as Satan's toe nails in the southern climate where I live! This humidity is for the birds, hence the big hair. Forget frizz free hair styles during the summer. That will never work...lol.
So I removed said shrug and guess what? You're right, life went on and no one cared about my pudgy arms or squishy back rolls! I'm thinking, oh yeah! I can totally dig this!
