The Flower That Blooms...

"The flower that blooms in the face of adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all." ~ Disney's Mulan

This is one of my most favorite inspirational quotes ever.  It's helped me through some very tough times in my life.  Times when I felt lonely and that no one cared...times when it was just me and God.  He would drop me little nuggets throughout these tough times.  This was one of them.  It was to let me know that everything would be alright and sometimes you have to go through a period of being polished and refined.  It won't always feel good.  I've learned, however, that it's how I react during those hard moments that builds my character.

Upon researching the true meaning behind this quote, I came across this beautiful photo of a plum blossom.  This particular blossom is celebrated and revered in China simply because it chooses to bloom in the harshest of conditions.  As you can see on the photo below, it's petals spring forth through snow, ice, and extreme weather conditions.  It's scent is strong and fragrant and is unique in the fact that it blossoms during the winter.

Metallic clutch:  Family Dollar $5

This was such a powerful photo for me to behold because while seemingly everything surrounding this flower is dead, it chooses to burst forth and be fruitful.  The colder the temperature, the more it blossoms.  This symbolizes perseverance, hope, and strength.  But also beauty and commitment to push through and bud even when the environmental conditions are unfavorable.  If there is anyone reading this post and struggling with tough times in your life right now, remember the quote below, and bloom where you are planted.
