Plaid Look 2: Because "Food Baby"

Hey guys!  I'm back with another outfit featuring THE hottest print of the season...plaaaiiid!  You guys, I've honestly been sleeping on how versatile this print can be.  What was I thinking?!  Where have I been?!  Apparently under a rock....ehh.

Tunic (Dress on myself): It's Fashion $15.99 | Skinnies: It's Fashion $21.99 | Boots: Avenue (old) | Scarf: Kohl's (old) | Purse: Goodwill $2.99
In keeping with my current love for flowing, fluid and comfortable fabrics, I decided try this gorgeous tunic from It's Fashion.  You guys, know that is my absolute. favorite. trendy spot. EVER...lol.  I can't say enough how much I love this place.  Anyhoo, this is supposedly a tunic, but tie in the fact that I'm... ahem "vertically challenged", and it obviously becomes a dress on me. Tada!
I love playing around with different color palettes.  I opted to accessorize with warm colors to complement the cool colors of my tunic.  You guys...this is absolutely one of my fave looks so far this season.  Now....I know you're wondering, what in the world does she mean by the title of this post?!  Well, here's the story behind the post title.
I actually wore this outfit for Thanksgiving dinner with my family.  Knowing that I would be sampling, okay okaaay...eating at several destinations, I decided I'd throw something on to camouflage my ever growing gut...lol.  The stretch and comfort of this tunic was perf!  However,  I wanted to spice things up a bit and opted to add my leopard print scarf for visual interest.  Hence, mission hide the "food baby" was accomplished...lol.  Everybody focused on how well I print mixed with this scarf.  Y'all know I loooove me some leopard print!
What do you guys think?  How well did I trick your eyes to keep it moving instead of stopping to focus on my gut...lol?  What are some tactics you use in deflecting unwanted gazes toward your problem areas?

Until next time, stay sweet you guys!

  3. Love this look! I like wearing things that add a little verticality to my frame. And I hear ya with the food, I wore elastic waist joggers and empire waist knit top to my Thanksgiving celebration. It made room for my beloved pumpkin pie smothered with whipped cream.

  15. I am so loving this patter mix!!!The blue plaid paired with leopard is fire-yah! I think most women tend to cover up areas that they are self conscious about. Usually I opt for a strong girdle, but as of late there are times that I just don't care- LOL!
