Backyard Barbecue

This past weekend was simply laid back and relaxed.  I pray your weekend was full of joy as well.  I am thankful and proud to be American!  Freedom comes with a price, and so I honor all those who serve to keep us free and safe everyday.  I enjoyed spending time with my extended family at a backyard barbecue.  Ummm, I kinda caved in to all the things I'm not supposed to be eating right now...like bread, pasta, potatoes...lol.  Mmmm hmmm, evidence still in hand on that balled up napkin you see in the above photo.  Lord, help me!  I can't seem to let go of bread for anything.  Ugh!

Anyway, I wanted to wear something cute yet breathable and lightweight.  White is a trend I wear every summer.  Perfect for reflecting all the sun and heat.  So when I found this cute tank at my local Dollar General,  I had to add it to my wardrobe y'all!  Yes, they sell clothing!  I couldn't believe it either...lol.  I was just purchasing a few toiletries, happened upon the one aisle tucked away and BAM...this cutie peeked out at me.
The design is what caught my eye.  A simple yet intricate detail  and sort of a tribal print.  I'm loving the coral and bluish-gray tint that mesh well together.  The gauzy, flow-y, texture was ideal for my skin to breathe in and it thanked me by not sweating profusely in this...lol.
Let's talk about this skirt!  Oh-em-gee!!  I swooned and pranced in the dressing room mirror when I tried this baby on.  Isn't it just the perfect color?  The turquoise color just pops against my skin tone.  And I'd have to say that shades of blue are my second favorite color besides PINK, obviously.  It has great stretch and hugs my curves in all the right places.  I WILL be wearing this until the threads no longer hold it together, yep!  And check out the texture shot below, it's embossed with a beautiful floral printed design.  Luuuurve it to pieces...lol.
Ummm, one other thing... You see that tiny white item in my hair?  It's a dandelion that my daughter picked for me.  She said, "Here, mommy, I picked this flower for you.  I love you!"  Then she placed it ever so gently in my hair.  Melted my heart.  However, I didn't realize it was there while taking pics for the blog...lol.  But hey, I couldn't hurt my 3 year old's feelings.  Gotta love 'em.
The total cost of this outfit was soooo inexpensive and I'm so proud of saving my coins yet looking fabulous while doing it!
